Class page: Year 2 - Cambodia
Cambodia Class has been having lots of fun in our extra PE sessions with Sacha from Shepway Sports Trust. We have been enjoying the lovely weather outside improving our agility and skills with lots of exciting PE activities.
We also loved the funky school assembly by Kent Music Road Show. We were amazed by all the different instruments and how to make your own from things in your home. We continued to explore different types of music in the classroom and enjoyed dancing to different rhythms and beats.
Our class mascot Mallory the Monkey also gets to go home with a new Learner of the Week, every Friday. Last week Mallory spent the weekend with Jake for trying his hardest in his learning and using his amazing Maths skills to add and subtract 2 digit numbers. We have also been working extremely hard as a whole class to earn monkeys for our class reward tree. When we fill all the monkeys on the tree we will get a big treat as a whole class. Last term we had an Easter egg hunt (yum!) and this term we would like to go to the beach!
There is no homework set for this Term as we are working really hard in school to prepare for the SAT’s. However, reading at home is essentially important and we encourage this to continue to happen everyday.
Cambodia class have been working exceptionally hard to revise their skills in Maths and English in preparation for the KS1 SAT’s. We have been practicing problem solving in maths daily and working out how to solve tricky 2-step word problems. We are also improving our reading skills by becoming great ‘text detectives.’
