What an amazing turn out we had on Friday - so many children wore sporty clothes with over 100 children taking part in FLOW lunch time multi sports and every child taking part in the Speed Stacking/ Speed Bounce challenges in the afternoon.
There were also lunch time sports activities (volleyball, speed stacking, basketball, handball, hurdles, space hopper races) throughout the week for all children on the playgrounds - we really did move it!
Well done to our Y5 play leaders (Declan, Sam, Ruby, Lisa, Louis, Leah, Khloe & Adam) who helped to run the afternoon events with Miss Lloyd-Prest, you showed excellent leadership skills!
A huge congratulations to all the teachers and TAs who took part in the challenges - not as easy as the children make it look!
Thank you for your donations, which will go to helping young people in need across the UK.
Last week Year 5 received a visit from Shepway Sports Trust and took part in an afternoon of Tri Golf activities.
The children had to use power and accuracy to aim the golf balls and score points.
We certainly have some budding golfers in the making!
Our football team are nearing the end of the group stages of the 2018 Herald Cup.
The first game saw Dymchurch off to a flying start, winning the game 6-0 against All Souls.
We were evenly matched against Lympne in our second game, with all the goals hitting the back of the net in the final 6 minutes, finishing the game 2-1 to Lympne.
Last week we took on Sandgate. Every member of the team played an outstanding game, finishing the game 0-0, and claiming an important point in the league.
We still have one more game to play against Harcourt and then have the Consollation Cup to play in next term. Good luck, boys!
Years 3 - 6 each received a visit from Shepway Sports Trust to develop their speed stacking skills. They had to learn different methods and stacking combinations, which tested their agility and coordination skills - not an easy task!
Year 4 even tried to make the tallest tower, and then had to bring it down in to 3 piles as quickly as possible.
A great start to the 2017/18 competitions!
Our Y3/4 A team took 2nd place overall after running a 1000m race, with each member of the team placing very well in the rankings. Well done to Oscar who took 1st place, Gemma who took 2nd, Joel who took 2nd and Bobby who took 3rd in the individual places!
Over the last two weeks we have taken three teams to the Marsh Academy and Three Hill Sports Park to take part in the Shepway Netball Qualifiers.
We took children from across Y4, 5 & 6 to compete and show off their skills. After two tough weeks, our teams came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in their individual groups, meaning that we have earned 2 places in the Shepway Netball Finals next week!
Good luck to both our teams who will be competiting against some tough teams for the title!
This week our EYFS & KS1 children were visited by Shepway Sports Trust who delivered the Fun Factory. The children had to work both independently and as a team to complete lots of challenges that focussed on power, speed, agility, reaction time and balance.
All the childrne had lots of fun learning how to be active and have fun at the same time.
This week some of our KS1 & KS2 children took part in a fun speed stacking workshop with Shepway Sports Trust to help them develop their hand eye co-ordination while having lots of fun!
The children had to learn to use both hands while stacking, 3, 6 then 3 cups each time.
We will certainly be working on these skills in Y1 & Y2 in term 6!
This year we had a very strong team entering the Herald Cup Football Tournament. The boys trained each week with our football coaches from FLOW and put out some blinding performances against some very tough competition.
Dymchurch Vs Harcourt - 1 - 0
Dymchurch Vs Lympne - 8 - 0
Dymchurch Vs Sandgate - 2 - 3
Dymchurch Vs St Martins - 0 - 2
Unfortunately we just missed out on the quarter finals, losing our last game 2-0 to St Martins.
Well done to all of our team, we are so proud of you!
