We are delighted to welcome RED TED to our school. RED TED stands for Read Every Day, Talk Every Day.
In our drive to improve reading across the school we are challenging the children to earn their own RED TED. When your child reads in the evening to you, we would like you to sign their Contact Book/Homework Diary. When there are 10 signatures in the book it will be stamped and the children will have a sticker on their RED TED book mark. When the 5th stamp & sticker is achieved, showing that the child has read 50 times, they will be awarded their own RED TED bear!
After earning their very own bear, the challenge continues. When they have read another 50 times and completed another bookmark, the children will be able to choose a brand new book from the special RED TED bookshelf in Mrs Evan’s room. And so on….
We really hope that with your support, all the children will be the proud owners of a RED TED. Please remember to sign the Contact Book/Homework Diary every day as your child reads to you. The greatest reward will be when your child becomes a fluent reader, and has a bear and new books to share with you!
Below is a selection of articles to help you supprt your child as they discover the joys of reading.
