Home Learning

Dear parents and carers,

Each week I will be uploading a timetable of activities for your child to complete at home. I have tried to follow the structure of a normal school day as closely as possible to allow you to maintain a familiar routine whilst learning from home. These activities include phonics, English and maths. There will also be a 'wider curriculum' activity assigned through Purple Mash for your child to work on during the afternoons. Every child has a login to access all digital platforms, however, if misplaced please contact us.

A new timetable will be available on this page every Monday morning for the school week ahead.

Reading Home Learning

Please see the link below for free access to ebooks which follow our school reading scheme.  The log in details have been sent to you via parentmail but you can also email us if you need them sent to you again.  Some of the books also come with activities for the children to do also.  Have fun reading!

 Term 2

 Week 6

This week the children enjoyed the golf activities which were led by two golfers from Greatstone golf club. The learnt how to use a putter and hit the ball into a target. In Maths we have been practicing division and in Science we have been learning about extreme weather and keeping a weather diary. We have also been re-telling the Christmas story by acting it out and creating a story board.

Welcome to term 2. I hope that you have all had a wonderful half term break. Our topic this term is called 'Brave' and we will be reading the story 'The princess and the pea' by Hans Christian Anderson. We will be talking about the characters and plot and writing our own versions of the story. We will also be looking at castles, especially the features of a castle and are hoping to visit a local castle as well as looking at some of the historical figures who lived in castles.

In Maths we will continue to look at Addition and Subtraction as well as money and multiplication/ division.

In Science we will be looking at weather, plants and materials.

We are also looking forward to some exciting Christmas activities later in the term. More details of these will follow later.

Homework will be given out every friday. It will be in the form of a grid of activities which the children can complete at their own pace and then bring in to show to the teacher. We will also send home phonics or spelling homework every week.

Please encourage your child to read at home every night and fill in their reading records when they do so. Our star readers are rewarded with class dojos.

 The timetable

P.E will continue to be a Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a named P.E kit in school. Hoop earrings must not be worn in school.  Stud earrings must be covered for P.E, and parents are to supply micropore medical tape for this which can be left in their P.E bag.
