Our Community Multi Academy Trust is a group of town, city and village schools that have joined together to provide the very best education for the children in our care and where we believe that education is very much a matter of the individual.
Today we had Darren in from Roots to Food cooking with our KS2 children, and wow was it fun! The children cooked an amazing dish of teriyake Chicken/Quorn with bombay noodles and it smelt, and tasted delicious.
Roots to Food is a vital part of the children's learning and we turned our school hall into a practical and interactive cooking and learning environment! These immersive and hands-on food workshops encourage our pupils to develop an interest in and understanding of healthy and nutritious meals. Constructing, from scratch, a balanced meal in small groups. Pupils apply their skills and knowledge to determine what makes a healthy, nutritious meal, learn how to prepare the food and apply the principles of good food safety and hygiene.
Thank you Darren, we will see you again soon!!
