Senior Leadership's Welcome

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors we would like to welcome you to our school.

Dymchurch Primary School is a hard-working and fun school community which has every child's development at its heart.

We hope that you will find this website interesting and informative and that it will give you some insight into life at our school.  Dymchurch Primary is a member of the Our Community Multi Academy Trust. We believe that we are stronger together and that collaboration helps to make the magic happen in our schools.

Here, it is an exciting place to be, full of inquisitive and inspiring children, innovative and caring staff, supportive parents and Local Monitoring Council Members and lots of wonderful learning opportunities. We are a one form entry school and offer a unique experience for every child. We have high standards; academically, socially and for each individual's personal development. Our emphasis is placed on offering a creative, meaningful and bespoke curriculum which excites and enthuses our children, drawing on their innate curiosity and thirst for independent learning. We capitalise on children's love of the outdoors and have wonderful outdoor learning environments on offer. These are an intrinsic part of our provision, intertwined with our curriculum which has been designed on the philosophy that children of infant age should be learning through doing, exploring, play and creation and with the needs of each evolving cohort in mind.

Learning should be engrossing, fun and exciting, challenging and rewarding. We offer a warm and caring environment which enables children to feel safe and secure as they grow, learn and develop. The foundation of our success is a happy, kind and respectful school community who work together to ensure the best possible experience and outcomes for each individual.

We are very proud of our school and strive to ensure everyone who has a part of it has happy memories. Children leave Dymchurch Primary as successful, independent and confident lifelong learners; skills they can build upon for the rest of their lives.

If you have any questions after browsing our website we would warmly welcome you to contact the school.

With very best wishes

Our mission statement

Dymchurch- A friendly place to learn and discover.

We aim to:

  • Ensure that every child will grow in their love and understanding of the world in which they live and their individual place within it.
  • Provide a balanced and enriched curriculum where every child is supported by first-hand experience, encouraged to have a life-long enjoyment for learning.
  • Offer opportunities for the staff, parents and governors to share their knowledge and expertise, and to promote their development.
  • Develop a supportive partnership within our community so that children can become positive role models and productive members of the local and global community.
  • Provide opportunities in a safe and stimulating environment where all children are challenged to be the best they can be and to take pride in and celebrate personal achievements.
  • Provide opportunities for each child to develop their life skills so they can face the challenges they may meet with confidence.
  • Encourage children to understand and care for the environment.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Mrs Nicki Man (Executive Headteacher) and Mrs Jennifer Ross (Head of School)
